356 Outlaw: The Traveler
My first 356 spot of the Summer: "The Outlaw 356" is a refurbished Porsche by Emory Motorsports (https://www.emorymotorsports.com) in that they have stiffened up the suspension, added a higher compression engine while maintaining balance of the vehicle. Apparently Rod Emory has also had the pleasure of resotring the famous Gmund coupe--with the covered wheel wells.
What I love about this specific car is that it is a traveler. I couldn't talk to the owner unfortunately but this example is covered in stickers from all across the country. Besides the fact i'm a sucker for roof racks for putting old vintage suticases and--as cliche as it is--hitting the road without a destination in mind.
Sometimes it's about the details. Like the glass covers of the headlights--they don't need to be there (in my estimation yet i'm not an aerodynamic engineer--but Porsche included them anyway. And those fog lights, moved over to the sides to allow more air to reach the oil coolers/radiator. And ohhhhhh the leather straps almost seem sarcastic in their placement "Oh I knowwww i don't need to be here on this front bonnet cause there's a hood latch but i'm old and trendy so ima stay" haha i jest-- they are seriously cool.
This is my favorite shot of the day as I always forget what a compact silhouette these cars have. Unlike a beetle which screams "economy car", this suggests speed, aerodynamics, and lightness above all. Look at how curved the windshield and rear glass are!
I'm not a fan of that steering wheel and would prefer a vintage Nardi wheel in my own, but I do love those red leather seats as they both look comfortable for long trips i'm sure this guy/girl goes on...i mean c'mon it has a ferkin RUFrak. they have to have some old suitcases lying around...
All in all, this car obviously made my day cause I stopped in the middle of the road to capture it. I hope they drive this car hard through the canyons as much as possible...With that, i'll leave you with some of my favorite 356 content from all over the internet.
